Incorporating Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development, Open Space, and Nature Based Systems into Hazard Mitigation Plans
Presentation related to efforts to study the feasibility of integrating Green Infrastructure/Low Impact Development into the current Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan (NHMP) for different jurisdictions within Denton County. The work consisted in review of the status of current NHMP, GI/LID ordinances and regulations, development of GIS tools to enhance the adoption of GI/LID, identification of flood prone areas, coordination with stakeholders, overlay with different data sets including land use, parks, green areas, and hydrologic calculations.

1 hour of CFM Continuing Education Credit has been approved through the Texas Floodplain Management Association.
