Denney Howard and Joe Baldwin will present on all things Arc Flash. Topics to be covered include Pertinent Laws, Rules, Codes, and Standards, Staff Arc Flash Safety Training Planning, and Arc Flash Studies – Electrical Data Gathering, Modeling, Analysis & Labeling.
A request for 1.5 Hours of CEU Credit has been submitted to the TCEQ.
WEAT members who are seeking CEU credit should download, fill out, and submit the CEU sheet to the WEAT office.

Denney Howard, with Lockwood Andrews and Newnam, Inc (LAN), is LAN’s Chief Electrical Engineer and is responsible for the firm’s Electrical Engineering Practice. Denney and his team focus on EI&C planning, engineering, design and construction management in water & wastewater infrastructure, transportation, transit and education & industrial campuses. Denney maintains a LEED Green Associate credential.
In 2016, Denney completed an Arc Flash Safety Plan for Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Denney’s Team recently completed a yearlong effort for the Texas Department of Transportation to provide arc flash studies for the statewide engineering and maintenance facilities. Denney is an active member of WEAT and serves on the Safety & Security Committee.
Denney started his electrical engineering consulting career in West Texas in 1981 and has performed engineering projects from coast to coast over his 38-year career. Denney is licensed in 12 states with 3 additional states pending. Denney has been performing arc flash studies and arc flash safety planning following the 2000 edition of NFPA 70E “Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace”, which brought attention to the hazards of arc flash phenomena.
Certifications
Joseph “Joe” Baldwin with Wagner-Meinert, LLC, he is the Safety Services Southwest Group Leader former owner and Senior Consultant for Baldwin EHS Consulting LLC. Joe and his team focus on OSHA. TCEQ and Environmental compliance. Joe is a Certified Instructor for the OSHA 10 & 30-hour General Industry and Construction Outreach programs. He is also an Authorized Training Provider for TCEQ. Joe has authored several safety courses that carry CEUs for Water and Wastewater Operators. He is an active member of WEAT and serves on the Safety & Cyber Security Committee.
Joe started his career in the electric generation industry. His 15 years in heavy industry along with 25 years of consulting and safety management has contributed to his ability to communicate with executives in the board room and work side-by-side with men and women who work with their tools.
Joe continues to grow within safety consulting reaching not only Texas but across the United States. Joe has a passion for people. Over the years, his mantra hasn’t changed; he firmly believes that “people are the most precious asset of any company”.
