Dear Stakeholder:
You are invited to a stakeholder meeting to discuss program updates to the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) Pretreatment program. The purpose of this meeting is to promote transparency by sharing information with the stakeholder community and to ensure that stakeholders are an integral part of the pretreatment program review process. The meeting will provide an opportunity for all parties to provide input into TCEQ’s efforts and work through different topics or issues. The TCEQ looks forward to working with stakeholders and hearing their experience and knowledge on pretreatment related topics to ensure that any proposed changes are efficient and consistent.
Some of the topics that will be discussed are:
- Dental Amalgam Rule requirements and exceptions
- Changes to the TCEQ Pretreatment Compliance Auditing process
- Control Authorities sampling in lieu of their industries
- Influent/Effluent sampling requirements in TPDES permits
- 1993 EPA Region 6 memo vs. 2004 EPA National Pretreatment Program guidance manual
- Definition of an “industrial user” and the requirements in 40 CFR §403.8(f)(2)(v)
- Plan for addressing backlog of pending program modifications
- Other Topics
