Anyone involved in the clean water industry knows that the shortage of plant operators is the most pressing challenge facing us.
Identifying, recruiting, training, and retaining talented operators is not just an issue, it is the major issue for utilities both big and small.
WEAT is here to help.
The registered WEAT Apprenticeship Program provides support to employers by helping identify apprenticeship candidates and providing funds for training (both on the job and in-classroom) as they complete their apprenticeships. Financial assistance flows through Texas' regional Workforce Solutions Boards directly to your organization!
The apprenticeship also provides access to additional benefits for veterans to support their transition into the workforce. The workforce program also seeks to benefit high school students and educators by bringing awareness to the field and providing opportunities for students to experience their career via internships and tours.
